Thought I would give a closer look at the sewing machine in Four and Twenty Tailors.

  2. My mom has a Singer that's older than I am. Many of my childhood frocks (and hers) were made on that machine including a red and white "Little Bo Peep" outfit with a red, lace decorated bonnet for my dance recital. Her's is electric, though. I bet using yours takes some practice, and dexterity.

(P.S.My verification "word" today is "aseam" -- LOL!)

  3. Ah! A Singer handcrank! One of my guild members brings hers to our quilting get togethers...and I must say I've begun to lust after it! I was wondering what this was in the background of your photos. Thanks!

  4. Wonderful old faithful! My Mum always used hers, she made all our clothes when we were little.

  5. I recently bought a singer treadle machine which I need to work on to get working - it is quite wonderful and apart from a bit of decoration missing from one of the drawers in intact (including a leather drive belt).
