Christmas day, sunshine, rain, thunder and lightening

Christmas, peaceful, calm, quiet, bright sunshine beach walking, warm fire cozy cats. Christmas dinner with Glyn and later, watching Buffy slay vampires ( very seasonal) listening to the heavy rain on the roof and drawing cats. It seemed that the cats had plans of their own for Christmas day, which mostly involved melting in the warmth from the fire.

  5. How do you get them to lie still so you can draw them? (hehee)

  6. How to get cats to act as life models.
    1. Feed them
    2. Stoke up the wood burner to a fine blaze.
    3. Draw fast.

  7. These drawings remind me so much of your old sketch book work from all those years ago.... the same qualities, same quality of line and tone - wow, so lovely! I am writing this from Broadwell Manor, near Stow-on-the-Wold, just up the road from Broadway! Very different from Scotland, lots of posh people ans nowhere to park!!!

  8. So, what are you doing so close to Broadway? Long way from home you are. Drawings are softer, but am finding it compulsive, to see if I can catch that language. Will go back through some old sketchbooks soon and post. Nothing from college but plenty from early days when first released into the wilds of illustration.

  9. I love your sketches. When i saw them i wanted to caress the cats. And the photograph is lovely. I love cats a lot, i have two little fluffy angels myself: an older grey cat, she's a real lady, 13 years old and a young red male cat, he's very playful and a bit naughty.

  10. Beautiful sketches.

We saw that you have some activites listed on your site to go with your books, the wee ones are going to do Can You See a Little Bear next week. Very fitting for the start of a new year.
