Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep.....

To market, to market to buy a fat pig.
Home again, home again, jiggerty jig.
To market, to market to buy a fat hog.
Home again, home again, jiggerty jog.
and

Tom, he was a piper's son.
He learned to play when he was young.
But the only tune that he could play,
Was Over the Hills and Far Away.

In the background someone is looking for her sheep.

  1. Jackie-you tease us with these previews- so sophisticated and yet naively charming at the same time-I can not wait to see the finished book-where does the line start???

  2. I love how you put little details in your illustrations that carry characters over from one drawing to another -- Like the dog with the yarn, and the black sheep -- so the reader and "readee" can explore the picture together. To my mind, the best part about reading to a child is the "interactiveness" experience.

  4. A lovely pig! Great to see (possibly Rosie?) bounding through the picture again too, really nice continuum...
I also really like the way you've set out the composition around the gutter with the characters facing their respective texts even though they're on the same pig... I would never have thought of that! Works really well... I watch and learn!
